Anecdote 3

I remember a time about two or three years ago when me and my dad were talking about when he was younger and how things were for him growing up. During the conversation, my grandfather came up and he was telling me how my grandfather would not always be the greatest father and sometimes feel distant from him. He explained that he couldn't really go to my grandfather to talk to him about things because he just wasn't emotionally there for my dad when it came to things such as advice or some kind of help. Despite this, my dad assured me that even though this was how it was for him growing up, it wouldn't be like that for me and that I can always go to him if I ever needed anything. This showed me that my dad doesn't want to be the same kind of father his dad was and wanted to be a better parent because of it.
